I am writing this with good news. If you have ever been victim to having your US seller account deactivated due to a Japanese account being deactivated, there is a way out.
Recently, I had a Japanese account deactivated that I have never used. I don't even remember creating it. I had all of my appeals denied, even after supplying all verification information multiple times. US Account Health services cannot help as they do not have access to the Japanese account and they recommend contacting Japan.. which is difficult because it's all in Japanese.
Opening a written case on the Japanese account is not helpful either. Typically, the case is routed to India and you will get the run around for days/weeks.
The best solution is to get on the phone with someone from Japan. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Go to Japan account Account Health and click the "Call me Now" button. You will have to do this after 8pm EST as that is when Japan's operation hours are.
2. Now, everything will show in Japanese and say that they don' support the English language. Use Google Chrome to translate the language and select the country on the bottom right to "US".
3. Have a separate windows open with Google Translate web page, ready to click on the microphone button.
4. Translate anything you need to get through the captcha/security prompt. When the phone starts ringing, put it on speakerphone.
5. Hold your phone close to the microphone on your computer and click the microphone button on Google Translate until you see the 3 digit number pop up, which is the security code to proceed to talking to someone on the phone.
*you may have to try this a couple times as sometimes Google Translate will lag, but it works.
6. Once you get through to someone, they will answer in Japanese, but everyone speaks English. Be polite and ask if they speak English. They will inform you that once your appeal is denied 3 times, they will escalate to the Review team.
7. As long as you have provided all identity verification information and stated what is going on, they should reactivate your account. It can take a few days.
8. Once you're reinstated, submit the appeal on the US side with the screenshot and email from Japan saying you were reinstated.
9. Once everything is good back on the US side, CLOSE your Japan account.
I hope this helps anyone going through what I did. Seller support did not help. I had to figure this out on my own.
