Amazon’s Marketplace Charges Across Countries Without Clear Consent – Is This Fair?
I’d like to raise a serious concern regarding Amazon’s cross-country marketplace setup and billing practices.
Without my clear awareness or explicit consent, I have been automatically enrolled into multiple international marketplaces (e.g., MX, IN, AE, etc.) just by activating my seller account on Amazon.com. Subsequently, I’ve started receiving unexpected monthly subscription charges from several countries.
Worse still:
There is no easy or intuitive way to cancel these international accounts.
Seller Support consistently redirects to preset templates and avoids resolving the issue.
Contact forms rarely lead to an actual free-text input box, making it impossible to explain the situation properly.
I am now being charged monthly fees multiple times from different marketplaces where I never intended to sell.
This is incredibly frustrating, and I feel this setup borders on deceptive practices. It’s not just about money — it's about transparency and fairness.
Has anyone else faced this?
Has anyone successfully resolved this?
Or taken this up with a consumer protection body?
Amazon needs to stop charging sellers without clear, informed consent and provide an accessible way to opt-out or deactivate marketplaces globally.
We deserve better.
